活动描述
From 14h30 till 15h45
Featuring the stories of four entrepreneurs in Shanghai. Mark Secchia (Sherpas Delivery), Morry Morgan (ClarkMorgan), Renee Hartmann, and Joe Constanty (NextStep) will discuss their up and down ventures in China over the past decade. This is designed to be an open panel with presentations followed by question and answer session with the audience. Spanning three very different industries, our panelists will give you insight how their ventures have taken form, and their vision for the future of small foreign owned businesses in China.
Sherpas
Mark Secchia has lived and worked in Shanghai since 1997. Mark Secchia is the founder of Sherpa’s Delivery Service Co. Mark was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan and attended high school in Rome, Italy. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Miami in Ohio and an MBA from the China Europe International Business School in Shanghai.
Sherpa’s originally began as an MBA internship project in 1998, when Mark and several classmates conceived and launched a small company offering call centre and delivery services in Shanghai. Now a company with annual revenues over US$5 million, Sherpa’s employs over 200 people throughout Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou. Sherpa’s remains a very hands-on endeavour for Mark; he can occasionally still be found working the call centre phones and continues to respond personally to many consumer inquiries. This combination of strategic vision and on the ground know-how has been central to Sherpa’s success and the source of many humorous business adventures.
